iFixIt, Autodesk, and Design for Repair

We at the Autodesk Sustainability Workshop have a lot of respect for the work that iFixIt is doing to encourage and enable people to repair and maintain their possessions. We’re excited that they’re co-sponsoring and helping to judge the design competition we’re currently running with Core77

It was my pleasure to co-present to a group of students earlier today with Kyle Wiens, the CEO of iFixIt. We discussed the need to design for repair, the history of iFixIt, design resources available on this site, some good and bad examples of repair, and the design competition.
